Boeing's Starliner Astronaut Mission Prepares for Launch
Critical Test Flight to Showcase Spacecraft's Capabilities
Launch Window Begins May 6, 2024
Cape Canaveral, Florida - Boeing is gearing up for its inaugural Starliner astronaut mission to the International Space Station (ISS) on behalf of NASA. Scheduled for a launch window opening on May 6, 2024, the mission will serve as a critical test flight to demonstrate the spacecraft's capabilities in preparation for future crewed flights.
The mission's launch campaign will commence approximately 45 days prior to liftoff, with the stacking of an Atlas V rocket at Space Launch Complex 41 by United Launch Alliance. Assuming favorable weather conditions and technical readiness, the Atlas V rocket carrying the Starliner capsule will ascend on Saturday, May 19, at 12:25 p.m. EDT (2254 UTC) from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
