A Legacy of Success

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater has a long and storied history of success in Paralympic wheelchair basketball. The Warhawks have won a record 10 national championships and have been to the Final Four 20 times.

UW-Whitewater has also been a major pipeline for the U.S. Paralympic wheelchair basketball team. Over the years, 14 Warhawks have gone on to represent their country at the Paralympic Games.

The Warhawks' Dynasty

The Warhawks' dynasty began in the early 1990s under the leadership of head coach Pat Judge. Judge led the Warhawks to their first national championship in 1994 and they went on to win four more titles in the next six years.

After Judge retired in 2000, the Warhawks continued to be a dominant force under the leadership of head coach Ron Lievense. Lievense led the Warhawks to five national championships in his 12 seasons at the helm.
